FAQs
What we Can-and Can't- Do During an Inspection
At MAV Powersports Inspections, we aim to give you a clear and honest assessment of the vehicle — but it’s important to note that we are not a dealership or repair shop, and our inspections do have some reasonable limitations.
-
We do not perform compression tests or any procedures that require partial disassembly.
-
We may not be able to ride or drive every vehicle, especially if it’s not street legal or presents a safety concern.
That said, we dig deep in other ways:
-
We inspect key components closely for signs of wear, misuse, or neglect.
-
We observe how the vehicle starts, idles, revs, and engages.
-
We examine the condition and function of electrical systems, controls, tires, and mechanical wear points.
You can count on us to be your eyes and ears at the inspection site, helping you understand the history, condition, and feel of the vehicle — so you can make an informed decision with confidence.
Jet Skies and PWCs
For all PWCs and Jet Boats, we partnered with Liquid Jet as they are the true professionals when it comes to a jet pump!
What does the inspection process involve?
Our inspection process includes a comprehensive evaluation of the vehicle's control features, cosmetic condition, modifications, mechanical systems, and both common and uncommon wear or damage.
For boats, we also assess the hull integrity in detail. Additionally, we evaluate the overall running condition, controls, and critical components to ensure a complete and accurate picture of the unit’s condition.
Can I be present during the inspection?
Yes, we encourage both buyers and sellers to be present during the inspection process. This allows for direct communication with our inspectors and the opportunity to ask questions or seek clarification on any aspect of the inspection.
Do you provide inspection reports?
Upon completion of the inspection, we provide a detailed report outlining our findings, observations, and recommendations. A handwritten report is available on-site at the time of inspection, and an email copy with photos can be provided within 24 hours upon request. This comprehensive report serves as a valuable tool for making informed decisions when buying or selling your vehicle.
What is the turnaround time for receiving the inspection report?
The timeframe for receiving the inspection report varies based on the complexity of the inspection and the type of vehicle. Typically, we strive to deliver the detailed report within 24-48 hours of completing the inspection.
